Why has it become a hassle for kids to write?
Why has it become a hassle for
kids to write?
Are you a teacher or a mother and struggling to help your
child to write?
If you are an elementary teacher and working with young
children for a long time you must have noticed delays in children's writing
abilities nowadays as compared to the past era.
It is true that children at this tech age are losing their
dexterity strengths, which are causing the delay in developing writing skills.
But the question is why?
Recently Guardian had published an article discussing the
reason behind the trouble children having due to the use of tech at home and in
schools.
Clarke B. said that nowadays children are using tablets more
often than other hands-on material such as blocks and scissors, which is
affecting their ability to build their fine motor skills and hold pencils.
Moreover, we also want to know if our next generation really needs to write in
future using a pencil or a pen. As the trend is changing and students have to
use the computer or tablets instead of paper and pen, will they really be using
it anymore in future? Or writing with a pencil/pen will be extinct?

ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion.
DeleteI will work on it.
I totally agree kids these days donot like to hand write and avoid practicing to improve their writing. Instead they prefer working on taps or laptop. This may create problem for them in future.
